Reference Photos

Having great reference photos helps me so much when completing your commission, however it can sometimes be tricky deciding which reference photos may work well for a portrait.

Understandably, some photos deteriorate over time and not all of your reference photos may be taken in the last couple of years with the best camera on the market. I will always try my best to work with whatever reference photos I am given, however please be aware that I may not be able to incorporate as much detailing in your commission in this case.

The below examples are just a rough guide for you to refer to when deciding which images are best to send.

Good reference photo

  • Natural light source

  • Subject is facing toward the light

  • Flattering angle

  • Clear, high quality image
